Gameweek six in the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers will see Uruguay taking on Bolivia on Wednesday. The hosts are currently second in the standings, while the visitors are second from bottom. Uruguay have made a very promising start to their qualification campaign and will be looking to keep the pressure on Argentina who are two points above them. The Sky Blue’s beat the world champions 2-0 away last week, in a heated encounter. That result extended their unbeaten run in this competition to three matches. They also beat Brazil 2-0 last month, while their only loss to date was against Ecuador back in week two. The Charruas are also the highest-scoring team in the CONEMBOL qualifiers this season with ten. They have scored two or more goals in four of their five matches so far. The hosts are short-priced favourties to claim the points in this one. 

Meanwhile, Bolivia were rooted to the bottom of the standings after losing their first four matches of the competition. That included defeats against Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador and Paraguay. However, they did manage to get themselves off the foot of the table by beating a struggling Peru last week. That result brought an end to an eight-match losing streak in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers. The last time they had won a match was against this opponent back in November 2021. The Green have struggled away from home too. They are on a three-match losing streak on the road and have won only one of their last nine away matches while losing the other eight. The visitors are likely to find it hard to get anything from this one. But if they can manage to sneak a result, it could mark the turning point in what has been a very poor campaign so far.
