Urawa Red Diamonds will be hoping to end their FIFA Club World Cup campaign on a high when they face Monterrey at the Rose Bowl on Thursday morning (GMT). The Reds are bottom of the group, while Rayados are in third place with two points. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Urawa Red Diamonds will not improve on their fourth-place finish from the previous edition of the Club World Cup. With no points on the board, they cannot qualify for the knockout round regardless of the outcome in this match. 

The Red Diamonds were beaten 3-1 by River Plate in their cup opener before suffering a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Inter Milan, where they conceded in the 92nd minute. 

Notably, the Reds were not in great shape in domestic competitions leading up to the tournament either. They have now won just two of their last nine games in all competitions and conceded two or more goals in five of their last seven. 

Meanwhile, Monterrey are in an awkward position in the group, two points behind first and second place, meaning there are a few potential qualification scenarios at play. 

Provided the match between Inter Milan and River Plate produces a winner, Rayados will qualify in second place if they win this match. If Inter and River Plate draw, and Moneterry wins, several tiebreakers will come into play. 

The Mexican outfit drew 1-1 with Inter in their opening match, thanks to a Sergio Ramos goal, before playing to a goalless draw against River Plate in game two.
