Wildcard Tristan Boyer has impressively made it to the second round at the US Open, where he will battle 15th seed Andrey Rublev. This is their first career meeting. Read on for our prediction of the match.

Boyer is having his best season at tour level and is now one win away from a historical feat. The American, who is debuting at Flushing Meadows, defeated lucky loser James Duckworth in straight sets in the first round.

He made his Slam debut in Melbourne earlier in the year and also won his opener. Boyer won his first rounders at Indian Wells, Cincinnati and Toronto and now seeks to win two matches for the first time at an event. Advancing to this round has propelled him nine places and into 104th in the live ranking.

Andrey Rublev held off the challenge of qualifier Dino Prizmic and began his eighth consecutive appearance at Flushing Meadows with a 3-0 win.

The Russian has been in good form in 2025. He has won 30 matches and secured a title in Doha and a runner-up finish in Hamburg. Rublev, who also has fourth-round finishes at the French Open and Wimbledon among his highlights, is defending 200 points.

Last year, he earned a fourth-round finish here, ending a run of consecutive quarter-final finishes. A former world number five, he has moved up to 13th in the live ranking.
