Unseeded Tomas Martin Etcheverry faces wild card Billy Harris for a place in round two of the grass court Cinch Championships. Up next for the winner will be a match against either sixth seeded Ben Shelton or a qualifier. Etcheverry is 31st in the live rankings so still has a bit of a battle on his hands to be seeded at Wimbledon. The Argentinian has only played that grass court tournament three times and has never made it past the second round. He's playing his first grass court tournament of the year. His last tournament was at Roland Garros, where he lost to Holger Rune in the last 32. Clay is his best surface and he's not won more than one grass court match in both 2022 and 2023. 

Billy Harris was 183rd in the last published list but is up to 161st in the live rankings. It's a new career-high beating the 181st he achieved in April of this year. That big jump has been achieved thanks to some good form on grass in the past fortnight. He reached the last four in the Surbiton grass court Challenger Tour event and then got to the same stage in Nottingham. Last year saw him reach the final of an ITF grass court tournament held in Nottingham. The 29-year-old has only played at Wimbledon twice and on both occasions failed to get through the qualifying rounds. He did win a couple of matches last year though before losing to Hamad Medjedovic. We tip the more experienced Etcheverry to win this match.
