Seventh seed Tallon Griekspoor finally got his first win of the year last week. The Dutchman takes on unseeded Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in round one of the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam. Time for our match prediction.
We could see an all-Dutch match in round two of this indoor hard court tournament if Griekspoor can win his match. The scheduled second round opponents are either Quentin Halys or Dutch qualifier Mees Rottgering.
Tallon Griekspoor lost his first four matches of 2026. He finally got off the mark in Montpellier with a win over Pablo Carreno Busta. However, the quarter-finals saw the 29-year-old beaten by Titouan Droguet. Griekspoor is now 27th in the live rankings, 28 places above his opponent.
He has a good record in his home tournament, reaching the semi-finals in both 2023 and 2024.
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard didn't have quite as enjoyable a time in Montpellier last week. The 22-year-old suffered an eye injury against Arthur Gea and had to retire injured after losing the first set 6-3.
The Frenchman has lost his last three matches since reaching the Auckland quarter-finals last month. That was his second last eight appearance in January after also getting to that stage in Brisbane.
