Sweden top Group A of the Olympic women's handball championship after the first two matches played. They now take on Denmark who are in third place. A close match looks likely, here's our prediction of this group fixture.
Denmark began their 2024 Olympic campaign with an eight-goal margin win over Slovenia. They couldn't make it two wins in a row though and were beaten by second favorites Norway. A poor first-half performance saw them score just eight goals, while conceding 14.
They failed to make a comeback and ended up losing the match by nine goals. This is their first time in the Olympic finals since London in 2012. It's 20 years since they won the third of their Olympic gold medals.
The Danes have been consistent in the past couple of years being the losing finalists in the 2022 Euros and winning the bronze medal in the Worlds last year. That tournament saw them beat Sweden but only by a single goal, their second win in a row over the Swedes.
In the last Olympics, Sweden finished in fourth place. That's the same place they achieved in last year's World Championships. They are relative newcomers to the Games having not qualified for the first time until 2008.
Their preparation for Paris wasn't ideal with their last two warm-up games being lost. They have made a good start to this group with wins over Norway and on Sunday defeated Germany. Both matches were close with a combined seven-goal winning margin. We tip Denmark to win this.

Our Sweden vs Denmark Prediction
Denmark can get back on track with a win over Sweden. They are consistent in major tournaments and had beaten Slovenia before losing to Norway at the weekend. Sweden won't be easy to beat though but we believe the Danes can just edge this.
Our Sweden v Denmark prediction is Denmark to win.
