Ignacio Buse is the fifth seed in the grass court Mallorca Open. He is in real danger of losing in round one as he faces unseeded Stefanos Tsitsipas. His opponent has far more experience on this surface and our prediction is that Tsitsipas will be the winner.

In round two, the winner will face either qualifier Damir Dzumhur or unseeded Vit Kopriva.

Buse is seed number five but that is four more than the number of professional grass court matches the Peruvian has won. He is 34th in the live rankings but that figure has been achieved by his form on other surfaces, especially clay.

Before this year, he had played once on grass and lost in the 2025 Wimbledon qualifying rounds. 2026 has seen him play in the Queen's Club tournament. He won his first round match with a three-set win over Marcos Giron. Then he lost to Brandon Nakashima, winning only four games.

Stefanos Tsitsipas is down at 88th in the live rankings but is a former top ten player. He won this title four years ago but has slipped down the rankings since then. The Greek player has reached one ATP Tour quarter-final this year and that was on a hard court.

Last year saw him win one of his three grass court matches.
