Defending champions Sporting CP look to continue their unbeaten start to Liga NOS as they host 11th place Boavista on Saturday. The visitors are coming off a 1-1 home draw against CS Maritimo where they disappointingly conceded the equalizer in the 96th minute. Boavista have only won two matches this season and are now on a run of 10 matches without a victory. The hosts have had a great start to the season with 11 victories, two draws and no losses in the league. They have managed to progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League, a great accomplishment for Ruben Amorim’s side given the tricky group they were handed. Although Sporting were defeated 4-2 away to Ajax in their last match, they should be in high spirits after finishing second in their group. Their most recent league match was a massive 3-1 away win against bitter rivals Benfica. 

Sporting have been in phenomenal defensive form, boasting the best defensive record in the league with just five goals conceded. If not for a 96th minute consolation goal by Benfica in their last match, they would have made it five straight league matches with a clean sheet. Boavista on the other hand, have one of the league’s leakiest defenses. They have conceded 23 goals this season, 15 of which have come away from home, and are still searching for their first away win of the season. Os Axadrezados are on a run of three straight away defeats, being outscored 10-2 during that stretch.
