A tricky match awaits inconsistent Braga on the continental scene as they start their Europa League charge against Feyenoord. The Portuguese side welcomes the high-flying Dutchmen for this matchday one encounter, and below we have a prediction.
For the 12th time in 16 years, Braga will be playing in the Europa League main draw. Their shaky side has come to the fore in the last five matches, Braga winning just one of their last five matches.
They are winless in the last three and are coming from a loss at home. It is better in the Europa League, though, unbeaten in their last seven matches, most of them in the qualifying rounds.
Feyenoord have had a solid start to their domestic season and will hope to carry that run of form to Europe. Their continental campaign started in the Champions League, but that was ended in the qualifying rounds courtesy of a 6-4 aggregate loss to Fenerbahce.
That denied Robin van Persie’s men the chance to play in the UCL a second straight season. They can take encouragement in their form this season, winning six of their eight matches thus far.
