South Africa - Namibia: Form Analysis
In recent years, the South African national team has shown gradual improvement, but their entry into this tournament followed a string of subpar performances, and they faced a disappointing start to the competition. Bafana Bafana suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Mali earlier this week. After Bafana Bafana's midfielder Percy Tau missed a penalty 19 minutes into the game, Hamari Traore scored in the second half, and Lassine Sinayoko added a second six minutes later, propelling Mali to the top of Group E. While South Africa displayed a strong performance in the first half, Mali dominated the match in the second period, securing a decisive victory. South Africa are now winless in their last three matches, including two losses and a draw, and they also failed to score in any of those games.
Namibia will be aiming to build on their historic achievement as they face South Africa in the Africa Cup of Nations. The Brave Warriors pulled off a massive surprise by defeating Tunisia 1-0 on Tuesday, marking their first-ever victory in the Africa Cup of Nations. That also broke the Brave Warriors' streak of finishing at the bottom of their groups in their last three AFCON appearances, where they had previously suffered seven losses and just two draws. With that result, Namibia are now unbeaten in their last three matches, winning two and drawing the other. In addition, they maintained clean sheets in each of those matches while only conceding one in their last six. These two teams played a friendly last September which ended in a 0-0 draw.

South Africa & Namibia Squad Analysis
South Africa came into this competition without their talisman and top goal scorer in qualifying, Lyle Foster. The Burnley forward pulled out of the squad to concentrate on his mental health, and without him, Bafana Bafana have notably struggled in attack. While South Africa did not pick up any injuries in their first match, it would come as no surprise if we saw Hugo Broos make several changes for this one.
Namibia made just two changes in their first match of the tournament and also came away from it with no injury concerns. Considering the result they managed, it is likely that Collin Benjamin will opt for an unchanged 11 for this match. Deon Hotto, the scorer of Namibia's historic goal, is expected to play a prominent role once again.

Our South Africa vs Namibia Prediction
South Africa head into this match as the favourites, but they have been struggling at the top end of the pitch without their start forward Lyle Foster. At the same time, Namibia have been excellent in defence of late and are likely to prioritize shutting out their opponents here, which will put them in the driver's seat to qualify for the next round. The first goal in this one could easily end up being the winner. Therefore, our South Africa vs Namibia prediction: Under 2.5.
