It's been a week of surprises in the indoor hard court Stockholm Open. At least four unseeded players will be in the quarter-finals and one will be either Lorenzo Sonego or Aleksander Kovacevic. Here's our second round match prediction.
Next up for the winner of this match will be either fourth seed Ugo Humbert or unseeded Matteo Berrettini.
Lorenzo Sonego had few problems in his first round match. The Italian defeated qualifier Arthur Fery in straight sets for the loss of only six games. That took his 2025 hard court record to 13-14 and he's 47th in the live rankings.
The 30-year-old needed that win as his three previous matches had all ended in defeat. A win over Kovacevic in their first ever meeting will see Sonego reach his third ATP Tour quarter-final of the year.
Aleksandar Kovacevic has also been on a poor run in recent months. He'd lost five in a row (all on hard courts) but got back to winning ways in round one. He beat eighth-seed Camilo Ugo Carabelli when his opponent retired when 4-0 down.
The American is up to 65th in the live rankings after that win. Earlier this year, he made it to two ATP Tour indoor hard court finals.
