Johanna Konta had a successful clay court season culiminating in reaching the semi-final at the French Open. She's the main UK hope for success in this tournament and is the 19th seed after a recent rise up the rankings. Konta didn't do well in the grass court warm-up tournaments but has done well so far at Wimbledon with wins over Ana Bogdan and Katerina Siniakova. Hopefully she won't be playing Banana Grams too much in the lead up this third round match, she's obsessed with that game. Konta has only made it past the second round of this tournament once before and that was when reaching the last four in 2017. She's met Sloane Stephens three times previously, all this year and all won by the British player with only one set lost.

Sloane Stephens is seeded ninth but hasn't got a good Wimbledon record. The American has only reached the quarter finals once and that was six years ago. Three times in the past four years she's been knocked out in the first round and never made it past the third round. So far this year, Stephens has had two straight sets wins to get to this third round. Her warm-up tournament on grass didnt go too well either with a loss to Jelena Ostapenka. With three defeats to Konta this year and having to face her on home soil, the higher seed has a difficult task on her hands. Go for Konta to delight her home fans with a win in this game.
