Jannik Sinner is the defending champion and top seed in the ATP Finals in Turin. Like his opponent, Alexander Zverev, Sinner won his first match in the Bjorn Borg group of this indoor hard court tournament. Read our match prediction.
Sinner began this tournament as world number one but there's a big chance that Carlos Alcaraz can take that position from him this week. All Sinner can do is keep winning matches but that won't be enough if Alcaraz wins all his three group matches.
The Italian beat Felix Auger-Aliassime in his opening group match. The first set went to 7-5 but his opponent faded due to a calf injury. Sinner leads Zverev 5-4 in previous meetings and 4-3 on hard courts.
They last met in the recent Paris Masters and Sinner only dropped one game against the German. Previous matches have been much closer though with several 7-5 or 7-6 sets played in them, including last month's Erste Open final.
Zverev beat Ben Shelton in straight sets in his opening group match. The world number three has won eight of his last ten matches, all on indoor hard courts. The only two losses though were both to Sinner.
