Sinja Kraus vs Anna Kalinskaya Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Bad Homburg Open

In the first round at Bad Homburg, Sinja Kraus and Anna Kalinskaya will both be targeting a first win at the event. They’ll have their first career meeting, and despite Kalinskaya retiring in Berlin, our prediction backs her to advance.

This match is heavily skewed against Kraus, who is coming off wins against Tereza Martincova and Renata Zarazua in the qualifiers. The Austrian hasn’t had a great run at the tour level, and this will be another challenging outing.

Kraus has only won three tour-level main draw matches and is seeking her first on grass in a WTA 500 event. Placed 92nd in the live rank, she has a 0-3 record against top-50 opponents in the last year.

Kalinskaya is on her second appearance here, ending a four-year absence. The last time the Russian played in Bad Homburg was in 2022, and she was dumped out after just one match.

This time she is gunning for a deeper run and will feel a start against Kraus is manageable. Sitting 20th in the live ranking, Kalinskaya has only lost once in the first round in her 12 previous events.

She comes here very confident, backed by a 17-12 record. She will, however, be wary of the fact that half of her last six losses were inflicted by players outside the top 50.
