Northampton Saints were the losing finalists in last season's European Rugby Champions Cup. They begin their 2025-26 campaign with a trip to Section Paloise. Can they return to England with a win? Read our match prediction.
This is a match in Pool 4 with the other teams being Bristol, Bulls, Scarlets and Bordeaux. It was the latter who beat Northampton in last year's final. The top four qualify for the knockout stages.
Section Paloise were in the European Challenge Cup last season. They finished third in their pool and then lost at home to eventual winners Bath. This season has gone well and they are second in Top 14 with all six of their home games being won.
Northampton Saints will again want to go deep in this competition. They are third in PREM Rugby with four of their six games being won and only one defeat at Bristol. Two of their three away league games have ended in victory.
On the road in last season's European Rugby Champions Cup, they won at Bulls and in their semi-final against Leinster. Stade Francais and the final against Bordeaux were both lost. This won't be easy but we tip Secttion Paloise to win on a +10.5 handicap.
