The 4 highest-ranked clubs in each pool qualify directly for the Round of 16, while the 5th-placed club in each pool advances to the Round of 16 of the EPCR Challenge Cup (the second-tier cup competition). Clubs finishing in 6th place are eliminated from all European competition.

A classic format then follows, with the Round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and then the Grand Final, played in Bilbao. The ranking of the teams in the group phase determines the duels in the final phase.
