The evening session on Day 2 at the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship will kick off with Ross Smith facing off against Andreas Harrysson. The winner of this match between Smudger and Dirty Harrysson will meet either Thibault Tricole or Motomu Sakai in the second round. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Ross Smith made his World Championships debut in 2014 and has featured in every edition since 2019. He was eliminated by Paolo Nebrida in the second round here last year.
Smudger has notched up two Players Championship titles this year (16 and 29). He hit two nine-darters en route to the PC16 title and defeated Josh Rock 8-7 in a thriller at PC29.
Smith lost in the second round of the PC finals last month and has five wins and five defeats in his last 10 matches across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Andreas Harrysson is another who will be making his Ally Pally debut this year, having earned qualification by virtue of his performance on the Nordic & Baltic ProTour Order of Merit.
Aside from his performances on the Nordic & Baltic ProTour, Dirty Harrysson’s standout performance this year was beating Michael Smith 6-1 at the 2025 European Darts Open.
Harrysson pinned a nine-darter at the PC32 evening in October and has six wins in his last 10 matches (L4).

Our Ross Smith vs Andreas Harrysson Prediction
Ross Smith comes into the 2026 World Championships as the favourite in this opening match, but given his recent record, it is a bit surprising to see just how short bookmakers have priced him.
We are firmly expecting the Englishman to win this match, but this has been a breakthrough year for Andreas Harrysson, and we feel that the Swede will give a good account of himself on debut at the Ally Pally. Our Ross Smith vs Andreas Harrysson prediction is Andreas Harrysson +2.5.
