Rangers - Roma: Form Analysis
Rangers are desperate for points as they prepare to host Roma on Thursday. After losing heavily in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League, it's not been going well in this competition either.
Rangers continue to struggle this season.
A home loss to Genk has been followed by a 2-1 defeat at Sturm Graz and a poor 3-0 defeat at Brann. The latter was under their new coach Danny Rohl and his new club are three points adrift of the play-off positions.
They really could do with a win here as their remaining fixtures include games against Braga and Porto. There has been some improvement in recent weeks but the weekend saw them lose 3-1 to Celtic in the Scottish League Cup semi-final.
Roma are fourth in Serie A with seven wins and three losses. They had won their first four away league games before being beaten 1-0 at Milan last weekend. That was their second loss in their last four league fixtures.
They began this league phase with a 2-1 win at Nice. They haven't been able to build on that though with two home losses to Lille and Viktoria Pizen. Roma will hope to secure a second away league phase win on Thursday.

Rangers have lost their last five European games and are rock bottom of the Europa League. A win over Roma would boost their chances of making it into the play-offs and keeping their European season alive.
It's going to be a tough task for Rangers against Roma who have one of the best away records in Europe. Rangers lost in the Scottish League Cup semi-final at the weekend. They are already out of title contention in the Scottish Premiership.
Rangers have Connor Barron available again after suspension. Attacking options have been hit by the continued absence of Rabbi Matondo and Kieran Dowell in midfield. Sunday saw them play 120 minutes against Celtic so it'll be interesting to see if Rohl makes many changes for this match.
Dybala will be missing on Thursday.
Roma will be without Paula Dybala for this trip to Ibrox. He managed to hurt himself while taking (and missing) a penalty at the weekend. Evan Ferguson is also on the injured list, so Artem Dovbyk is likely to start this Europa League game.
The Serie A club got their campaign off to a great start with a win but have lost their last two Europa League fixtures. Perhaps not quite as much as their opponents, Roma could do with a win on Thursday.
