Qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili will hope to continue his good record against unseeded Quentin Halys. The pair meet in round one of the indoor hard court European Open that's being played in Brussels this week. Here's our match prediction.

Basilashvili had to win two qualifying matches to make it into this main draw. The second of those saw him have to come from a set down to defeat Pierre-Hugues Herbert. That victory has taken him to 97th in the live rankings, well below his career-high of 16th achieved in 2019.

The 33-year-old has won 26 of his 41 hard court matches played this year. He's been playing a great deal on the Challenger Tour but has made it to two ATP Tour hard court quarter-finals. The most recent of those was in last month's tournament in Chengdu.

He leads Halys 3-1 in previous meetings but it's 1-1 on hard courts.

Quentn Halys is 77th in the live rankings but has been struggling for form in recent months. The 28-year-old has only won two of his last 13 matches and lost six successive hard court matches between July and late September. 

His most recent tournament saw him lose in round two of the Shanghai Masters.
