Portugal will welcome Finland to Lisbon for a Tuesday friendly match, hoping to return to winning ways ahead of Euro 2024. Not many teams heading to Germany have lined up more than two friendly matches. Portugal have three before they play their first Euro 2024 game. The one against Finland will be followed by Croatia and the Republic of Ireland. Roberto Martinez's charges will go into the Tuesday game seeking some positivity after their 2-0 fall to Slovenia in their last outing. That loss brought to an end a run of 11 straight wins and marked a second straight game in which Portugal conceded twice. Despite the lows, Portugal remain one of the most complete sides in Europe ahead of the Euros. They will still head into this game as favorites while it is noteworthy that 10 of their last 12 matches returned clean sheets. This will be the first time these two nations meet since 2011. Portugal have been the dominant side in this fixture, and kept clean sheets in each of the last three meetings.
Finland’s quest for a spot at the 2024 European Championship was ended at the playoffs by Wales. Now they can only prepare for the Nations League, which comes in September. Heading to Portugal for this encounter, Finland rose from their loss to Wales by beating Estonia 2-1 in a March friendly game. They will be looking to build on that win but the quality of opposition here can’t be compared to Estonia’s. The past few games haven't painted a consistent picture for Finland, having lost four times in the last seven matches. They failed to score twice in that run. The visitors will hope this doesn’t bring back the memories of failing to score in their last three matches against Portugal. It has been tougher for Finland away from home, winning just four of their last 12 matches. In nine away matches, Finland managed just two clean sheets.

Our Portugal vs Finland Prediction
Our prediction for Portugal v Finland is for Portugal to win with a clean sheet. Finland are clearly the underdogs coming into this game. They haven't done well against Portugal either, failing to score in the last three meetings. Portugal on the other hand, are looking to bounce back after a loss last time out. They’ve done well defensively while their firepower in attack is one of the best in Europe. All seems to be pointing towards a dominant outing for Portugal here.
