British number two Katie Boulter has a tough first round match at Wimbledon. To reach the second round of this grass court Grand Slam, Boulter must defeat ninth-seeded Paula Badosa. Read our match prediction below.
Paula Badosa has never reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals but still has a strong record here. Three times the Spaniard has made it to the last 16, most recently in 2024. It's the same story in Grand Slams with the last six played all seeing her get to at least round three.
The 27-year-old has reached one grass court quarter-final this month. Emma Navarro was beaten in Berlin but Badosa had to retire against Xinyu Wang. Badosa didn't play last week so is hopefully now fully fit.
The winner of this match will face either Greet Minnenn or Olivia Gadecki, both unseeded.
Katie Boulter is at 43rd in the live rankings and her best at Wimbledon is a third round in 2022 and 2023. The British player has never made it past round three of a Grand Slam.
So far this year on grass, Boulter lost in round two at Queen's Club to Diana Shnaider. In Nottingham, Boulter was beaten by eventual champion McCartney Kessler in the last eight.
