It's been a week of shocks so far in the hard court Winston Salem Open. Wild card Pablo Carreno Busta takes on unseeded Aleksandar Vukic in the third round. All the top nine seeds have already lost. Here's our match prediction.
Seed after seed have been knocked out in this final tournament before the US Open starts next week. The highest remaining seed is tenth-seeded Lorenzo Sonego and only six seeds are left. Neither play in this match.
Pablo Carreno Busta is continuing his comeback from elbow surgery and was down at 299th in the latest rankings. Back in 2017 he was tenth in the ranking list. Recent weeks have seen Busta reach the last 32 in Montreal and then the last 16 in Cincinnati last week.
That included a win over Sebastian Korda who is a recent tournament winner. This week has seen the Spaniard beat qualifier Omni Kumar and 13th seed Alexander Shevchenko with only six games being lost. He's now up to 274th in the live list.
Aleksandar Vukic is the world number 94 and two places higher in the live list. The American has been struggling for form with only one of his last six matches being won before this tournament began and he had problems in round one here.
He lost the first set against Dan Evans but won the next two for the loss of only five games. Round two saw him take on out-of-form 14th seed Adrian Mannarino and he won that in three sets. The middle one was lost but he won the decider for the loss of one game.
