Fourth seed Ons Jabeur takes on unseeded Lucia Bronzetti for a place in the Zhengzhou Open quarter finals. The winner could face either eigth seeded Daria Kasatkina, a wild card or a lucky loser in the quarter finals. Jabeur is seeded fourth but the second highest one to start this outdoor hard court tournament after the withdrawals of Coco Gauff and Elena Rybakina. The Tunisian is ranked seventh in the world and eigth in the Live WTA Race. That's the last qualifying position for the Tour Finals but a win over Bronzetti will take her up to a more comfortable sixth. Jabeur recently won the Ningbo Open, her second title of the year. Since then she's lost to Marta Kostyuk in the China Open and received a bye into this second round in Zhengzhou.

Lucia Bronzetti was ranked 63rd at the start of this tournament and is up two places in the live list. That's 14 positions lower than the career high she achieved in July of this year. The Italian has played well in China in recent weeks with two quarter finals being reached, though no top 85 ranked players were beaten. Last week didn't go so well for her with a loss to Ashlyn Krueger in the qualifying rounds of the China Open. Bronzetti has won one title this year, that being on clay though. This tournament has so far seen her beat wild card Guo Hanyu in straight sets. This is considerably tougher and our prediction is a straight sets win for Jabeur.
