Game 5 of the NBA Western Conference finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves is on deck on Wednesday night at the Paycom Center. OKC beat the Timberwolves in Game 4 to take a 3-1 lead in the series. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

The Oklahoma City Thunder bounced back from their unexpected 42-point defeat in Game 3 by taking back home-court advantage with a 128-126 victory over the Timberwolves on Monday. 

MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander produced another stunning performance of 40 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds. He received excellent support from Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren, who combined for 55 points. 

However, OKC’s victory in Game 4 was also largely attributable to solid and smart defence. They forced 20 turnovers for the second time in this series on Monday and have broken the record for forced turnovers this postseason. 

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves' stars Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle were kept at bay in Game 4, combining for just 21 points and nine assists.

However, the positive from the last match for Minnesota was the performance of their bench, which contributed more than half of their 126-point tally on the night (64).

The Timberwolves made two more threes on a 43.9% conversion and six more free throws than OKC, but the seven more turnovers they committed cost them dearly.
