Third seed Nicolas Jarry is up against qualifier Alibek Kachmazov in the Chengdu Open quarter-finals. Who will make it into the last four of this hard court tournament? Read our match prediction below.

World number 28 Nicolas Jarry hasn't had the toughest of draws in this tournament. He received a bye into round two and then defeated unseeded Lukas Klein in three sets. He dropped the middle set but won the final one 6-4.

Jarry remains 28th in the live rankings but will move up a place if winning this quarter-final. It's a welcome return to form for the Chilean who had lost his last three hard court matches and seven in a row on all surfaces.

Although he prefers playing on clay, Jarry has had some impressive hard court results this year. This is his third ATP Tour quarter-final of the year, the others being achieved in Adelaide and the Miami Masters. 

Albek Kachmazov was down at 252nd in the latest rankings. His career-high was only four places higher than that but he's easily surpassed that this week. His run to the last eight has taken him to 211th in the live rankings.

This year has seen him playing on lesser tours with one final reached and two other semi-finals on the Challenger Tour. The 22-year-old is playing his first ATP Tour event of the year.

He had to qualify but only lost ten games in his two qualifying matches. That took him into the main draw and in round one, the Russian beat Aleksandar Kovacevic in straight sets.

He followed that win with a straight sets victory over unseeded Taro Daniel. As in round one, the first set went to a tie-break. A bet on one here might be profitable. Overall, we tip Jarry to win the match.
