This Premiership Rugby round seven fixture will see Newcastle Red Bulls (formerly Newcastle Falcons) host defending champions Bath Rugby on Sunday. Can the Newcastle-based side edge past Bath Rugby to secure their first Premiership Rugby win of the season? Here is our prediction. 

Newcastle Red Bulls stunned naysayers with an impressive performance in their Challenge Cup opener against Lyon. They set aside their dismal domestic run and secured a surprise 23-14 away win over the French side. This was followed by another victory (14-10) against Lions in their second match. 

However, Alan Dickens' side remain winless in their six Premiership Rugby games this season and are bottom of the standings with zero points. It remains to be seen whether they can leverage their stellar start in Europe to end their winless run in Premiership Rugby. 

Bath Rugby defeated Saracens 36-29 in their last Premiership Rugby match. They are third in the league standings with 26 points from five wins and one defeat. 

The defending champions will head into this match off the back of a solid 3–0–1 record in their last four games, although their most recent fixture ended in a 45-34 defeat against RC Toulon in the Challenge Cup. They have also been inconsistent on the road lately, alternating between wins and losses in their last five away games (W2, L3).
