Namibia - Mali: Form Analysis
Namibia opened their campaign at AFCON with a shock 1-0 win over favorites Tunisia. That marked their first ever AFCON win, and they will want to build on it. They however suffered a loss in the run up to this game, falling 4-0 to their neighbours, South Africa. While they managed to hold off Tunisia until late, against South Africa it was game over at half time. In the opening 45 minutes against South Africa, they were already 3-0 down. Namibia offered really little in terms of resistance. Their run of three matches unbeaten, all with clean sheets, also ended in that defeat. That was their third game in five without scoring. A run of eight losses in 11 AFCON matches doesn’t present a very inspiring read for Namibia. In their last seven AFCON matches, Namibia have lost four without scoring. Twice in their last three AFCON matches, they conceded four goals. They’ve faced off with Mali just twice before this game, and Mali won on both occasions. Their last meeting was in November 2020 in Namibia, and that ended 2-1 in Mali’s favor.
For the second game running, Lassine Sinayoko scored as Mali took an early lead against Tunisia. Mali would however fail to hold on for a second win in the group and secure their slot in the next round. With four points coming into this encounter, Mali will need just a draw to secure a round of 16 slot. A win will however ensure they finish top and probably get an easier opponent in the next round. The draw with Tunisia handed Mali their ninth straight unbeaten game. They have seven wins in that nine-game run and come here on a very good scoring run. Mali have only failed to score in one of their last 11 matches; in six of the nine matches, they scored two or more goals. At AFCON, Mali haven't lost in regular time in any of their last six matches. They have just one loss in 11 matches at AFCON. In their last four AFCON matches, Mali kept three clean sheets, winning two.

Namibia & Mali Squad Analysis
Namibia come into this game hoping to rise from their heavy loss to South Africa. They will be depending on Match Day 1 hero Deon Hotto, who couldn’t inspire them on Match Day 2. Mamelodi Sundowns forward Peter Shalulile has recovered from injury and could be in line for some game time here. The fact that they have a fully fit squad available means coach Collin Benjamin will have options. Mali will once again look to Lassine Sinayoko here after the forward scored twice in the opening two matches. Being fully fit, we expect him to command a third straight start.

Our Namibia vs Mali Prediction
Namibia aren’t coming into this game on a great run, especially at AFCON. While they target a win to see them advance for the first time ever to the knockouts, this will not be an easy one. Though Mali are almost there, they won’t want to leave anything to chance and we expect them to put their strong foot forward. With the two nations’ recent runs, Mali will be clear favorites. Our prediction for Namibia v Mali is for Mali to win with a clean sheet.
Namibia vs Mali - Other Interesting Predictions
Under 2.5 goals
Save for their loss to South Africa, Namibia haven't been in many high scoring games. They aren’t the greatest attackers either and their struggles at AFCON finals are well documented. The Brave Warriors will only be seeking their second win ever in an AFCON game, having scored more than a goal in just two of 11 matches. five of their last seven AFCON matches had under 2.5 goals and coming into this game also, they haven't been scoring a lot either. They managed more than a goal in one of nine matches ahead of this one, and their games have had low scores. Seven of their last 10 games had under 2.5 goals and we are backing this one too to have under 2.5 goals.
