Who will face fourth seed Lorenzo Sonego in round two of the Grand Prix Hassan II? It'll be the winner of this match between unseeded pair Corentin Moutet and Sumit Nagal. There's little between the pair in the latest ranking list. Nagal is 95th and his opponent four places below him. Sumit Nagal is in a career high position but is up to a new one of 91st in the live rankings. The Indian has spent most of his year on the Challenger Tour with a title won in Chennai and a semi-final in Bangalaru. Both were hard court events played in his homeland. He did get to round two of the Australian Open after making his way through the qualifers. On clay, Nagal has never qualified for the main draw at Roland Garros or any clay court Masters events. It's been a different story on lower level tours with ten titles won including two last year.

Corentin Moutet has won two of the previous three matches played against Nagal. All were on the Challenger Tour and it's 1-1 on clay. The last meeting between them on this surface was five years ago. Moutet is 96th in the live rankings but was ranked as high as 51st two years ago. The Frenchman has only been playing on clay this year. He lost his first two matches on the South American tour but then got to the last 32 in Rio. Much better form was shown with a run to the Santiago semi-final including a win over Nicolas Jarry  His most recent tournament was the Challenger Tour event held in Naples where he got to the last four.
