Monaco vs Lyon Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

Monaco can move up a place to second in Ligue 1 if beating bottom-of-the table Lyon at home. The Red and Whites begin the weekend in third place, two points adrift of Nice and six behind leaders PSG. They have won nine of their 15 Ligue 1 fixtures this season with only three defeats. Home form has played a major part in their good start to the new season. They lost 1-0 to Nice but have won their other six home league games with only four goals conceded in their seven games. A win over Lyon will be their fifth successive home league victory. The last four have all seen them score at least twice. Their most recent league game was a 2-1 away win at Rennes. Only one of the last five league games played by the Monagesques has been lost and that was a 5-2 thrashing at PSG.

Lyon are having a difficult season after finishing seventh last term. Le FCL are bottom of Ligue 1 and three points from safety as matchday 16 begins. Only two of their first 15 league games have been won and one of them came last weekend. Lyon beat Toulouse 3-0 at home thanks to a Lacazette hat-trick. That win ended a poor run of three successive league losses with eight goals conceded. Away form this season has produced only four points from seven league fixtures. A win for Lyon will move them up two places and level on points with 15th placed Toulouse but they have a far superior goal difference. We go for Monaco to get a home win here.
