Michael Mmoh vs Holger Rune Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Acapulco Open

Second seed Holger Rune and the qualifier Michael Mmoh will square off next in Acapulco, their second encounter of the season. They will battle in the first round with the winner playing either Jordan Thompson or Aleksandar Kovacevic next. Michael Mmoh lost to Rune more than three weeks ago in Montpellier. It was their first-ever encounter and the American will be eager for revenge. Mmoh is making his second successive appearance in the main draw here. He defeated two heavy favorites for the main draw in the qualifying rounds. In the first round, Thanasi Kokkinakis was unable to continue and retired while 4-1 down in the first set. In his next qualifier Mmoh got the better of Yoshihito Nishioka in three sets. He has now won six of the 11 matches he has played. The 26-year-old has dropped two places and is now ranked 124th in the live ranking.

Holger Rune won his first encounter with Mmoh in straight sets. He will hope for the same outcome to spark a deep run in this competition after recent disappointing performances. Rune began the year exceptionally well and finished as runner-up in Brisbane in his first tournament. But since then he has only once won more than one match in a row. This was in Montpellier where after defeating Mmoh produced a semifinal finish. The world number seven has lost three times in his last seven outings. His last appearance came two weeks ago as he exited the Rotterdam Open in the second round. The Dane’s recent struggles could be due to the fact that he had a coaching change earlier this month. Rune is defending the points won last year in his run to the semifinals.
