After losing a close one to the Magic in their opener, the Heat bounced back emphatically on Friday, beating the Grizzlies 146-114 on the road. It was an impressive showing of depth by the Heat with eight players scoring double digits, while Bam Adebayo led the way with 24 points in 28 minutes of court time.
This is Miami’s home opener for the 2025-26 season after finishing 19-22 in this arena last year.
The East is looking wide open this season and it’s the New York Knicks that many are tipping as the most likely team to emerge from the pack. They’ve certainly had a good showing to start the year, beating the Cavaliers 119-111 in the opening game and following that up with a 105-95 home win over the Celtics.
The Knicks shot just 38.4% from the field but dominated the glass, grabbing 21 offensive rebounds compared to Boston’s eight. This will be New York’s first road game of the season; they posted a .583 winning percentage as the visiting team in the previous campaign.
