Qualifier Alexandra Eala is through to her first grass court final. The Filipino has had to win six matches to reach this final with three sets being lost. One was in her semi-final victory over Varvara Gracheva.

This is her first WTA Tour final and marks the beginning of a big week for the 20-year-old. Round one at Wimbledon will see her face the defending champion Barbora Krejcikova. Eala is up to a career-high 56th in the live rankings after this run to the Eastbourne final. 

Maya Joint is playing in only her second WTA Tour final. The other was when winning this year’s clay court tournament in Rabat. The 19-year-old has had to win four matches to reach this final and is a career-high 46th in the live rankings list.

Friday’s semi-final saw her defeat unseeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets. Earlier in the week, the Australian had beaten Ons Jabeur, seventh-seeded Emma Raducanu and Anna Blinkova. Only Raducanu has taken a set off her this week. We tip her to win this final.
