Martina Trevisan vs Nao Hibino Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Rabat Open

It will be a battle of unseeded players when Martina Trevisan and Nao Hibino meet in the first round in Rabat. Martina Trevisan has won all three previous matchups with Hibino. Their most recent meeting was last year in Miami. The Italian is also an excellent clay court performer and will be confident of winning this first clay encounter with Hibino. A win here will see her halt a four-match losing run. Trevisan is having a torrid season and in 21 outings, has managed just six wins. Yet to progress past the second round at a tour event, Trevisan was last on the court at the Parma Challenger. A ninth first-round loss has left the former WTA top 20 player on the brink of dropping out of the top 100. She has fallen eight places to 96th in the live ranking. Trevisan triumphed in Rabat two seasons ago. Last year she was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

Nao Hibino also arrives here on a losing run. The Japanese number two, who is placed 93rd in the live ranking, has lost her last four fixtures. All four matches have come on clay, meaning she is yet to win on the surface this season. Hibino isn’t a strong clay court performer and has compiled a losing record on the surface in her career. This and her struggles against Trevisan will not dampen her hopes of making a winning return in Rabat. Hibino last played in this event in 2017 where she fell in the first round. The 29-year-old was last on the court a week ago at the Paris 125K Challenger. Hibino has fared better than Trevisan this year and arrives for this match with a 14-14 record. A second-round showdown with either Malak El Allami or Lucia Bronzetti awaits the winner.
