Fifth seed Mariano Navone and the unseeded Marton Fucsovics will contest the Romanian Open final. This will be the first time the two are going up against each other. Mariano Navone is through to his second tour final of the season and career. He finished as runner-up in Rio and will hope to have learned enough from that run to conjure up a win here. The Argentine defeated Gregoire Barrere in straight sets to advance to this round. It was his first 2-0 win in three rounds in Bucharest and propelled him to 41st in the live ranking. Navone, who has compiled an 18-7 record, has competed solely on clay save for one match on hard court in Melbourne
Marton Fucsovics has ended a three-year wait for a tour final. He last played a championship match in Rotterdam in 2021 but was unfortunate to not win. The Hungarian has contested three tour finals and has won once. This was in Geneva six years ago and is the only tour final he has contested on clay. Fucsovics has been in superb form in Bucharest and has won three of his four matches without losing a set. He defeated Alejandro Tabilo by the loss of eight games in the semi-finals. The 32-year-old has compiled a 12-7 record and has won six of the seven matches he has contested on clay. Advancing to the final has catapulted him up a massive 21 places to 61st in the live ranking.
