Maria Sakkari is a former Italian Open semi-finalist. Now down to 81st in the rankings, the Greek player faces Maja Chwalinska in the final qualifying round of this outdoor clay court tournament. Here's our match prediction.

Sakkari has won 11 of her 25 matches this year with only one quarter-final reached. That was in Linz but only one opponent had to be beaten to get to the last eight. There has been some more consistency shown recently though.

The fourth round was reached in the recent clay court tournament played in Madrid. That included a straight sets win over Jasmine Paolini and the Greek will want to build on that in Rome. So far in the qualifying rounds, Sakkari has beaten Chloe Paquet but had to come from a set down.

Maja Chwalinska is the world number 124 and the Pole has been playing exclusively on clay since March. Her best run was getting to the semi-finals of the ITF event played in Antalya. It's not been going well of late and she arrived in Rome having lost each of her last six matches.

A win finally came in the first qualifying round of this tournament with a victory over Yuliia Starodubtseva after losing the first set on a tie-break.
