Camila Osorio takes on 16th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova next at the Canadian Open after progressing to the second round. In their second meeting of the season and fourth overall, our prediction backs Osorio to extend her dominance over Alexandrova.

Osorio has an unblemished record against Alexandrova. The Colombian has won all three previous meetings in this fixture without dropping a set. Their most recent duel was in the opening round of this year’s French Open.

Having made a winning start to the week, Osorio comes here confident of another victory. The 24-year-old, on her Toronto debut, defeated the qualifier Lucrezia Stefanini in the first round.

Following the win, she has moved up to 54th in the live ranking and improved to 15 wins on hard courts this season.

Ekaterina Alexandrova has had a difficult 2026 campaign. She will hope the second half of the season is much kinder. The Russian, who has compiled an 11-18 record, arrives in Toronto having lost her last two matches.

She returned to action after a three-week break in Memphis last week but lost in her first fixture. Alexandrova lost to eventual champion Kristina Liutova after dropping out during the third set.

The 31-year-old, who last appeared at this WTA 1000 event in 2019, enters this week as the world No. 19.
