Eighth seed Marcos Giron will take on the unseeded Arthur Rinderknech in the second round in Antwerp. This will mark their fourth career meeting and below is the preview as well as a prediction of the match. 

Marcos Giron started his tournament with a straight-set victory over Botic van de Zandschulp. He won by the loss of five games to claim a third win in his last four outings. 

This slight pick in his form, after a difficult last two months, will have him confident of adding to his advantage over Rinderknech. Giron has triumphed twice in this fixture, with one of his wins being their only indoor hardcourt battle. 

Advancing to this round has improved his record to 23-24 but he has dropped four places to 51st in the live ranking.

Arthur Rinderknech also claimed a 2-0 victory to start his run in Antwerp. The Frenchman overcame the challenge of wildcard Alexander Blockx to improve his record to 36-30. Ten of his wins have come on indoor hard courts. 

Rinderknech, who has alternated between the tour and challenger circuits, defeated Giron the last time they were paired against one another. That was last season in Chengdu. 

Advancing to this round has moved him one place up in the live ranking to 61st. Rinderknech hasn’t had a strong tour season and only four times thus far has he won more than two main draw matches. 

The winner from this match will face either Zizou Bergs or Sebastian Baez in the quarter-finals.
