Mia Pohankova will be looking to continue with her winning start to the Libema Open when she next faces Magda Linette. They will square off in the second round to mark their first career meeting. With Linette coming from five losses in 10, our prediction will back Pohankova.

Linette was able to finally get over her first-round hoodoo in Hertogenbosch after defeating Kimberly Birrell. The Pole, who had exited this event in back-to-back campaigns without winning a match, won in three sets.

She clawed her way back after dropping the first set. Her fifth win in the last 10 outings was also her 16th of the season, and in turn, has catapulted her eight places to 52nd in the live ranking.

Mia Pohankova produced the biggest upset of the opening round when she eliminated second seed Clara Tauson. That was the biggest win of her career, and she earned it in style, dropping eight games against the world number 24.

Pohankova, who arrived for her Hertogenbosch debut ranked almost outside the top WTA’s top 300, has shot up a massive 33 places in the live ranking. She is now placed 247th, which is a new career high ranking.

The 17-year-old, who is making her tour debut, has compiled a 19-6 record and is a former Slam champion on grass at junior level.
