Round one of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships sees 27th seed Magda Linette take on qualifier Elsa Jacquemot. There's a difficult looking round two match for the winner, either Alycia Parks or Belinda Bencic. Here's our match prediction.

Magda Linette has had a mixed preparation for this grass court Grand Slam. There's been two first round exits for the Pole but also a run to the last four in Nottingham. Linette has made it to the third round of this tournament three times, most recently in 2023. Last year saw her exit in round one.

The 27-year-old won her one previous match against Jacquemot in straight sets. That was played on clay though rather than grass. Elsa Jacquemot had to come through the qualifying rounds to reach this main draw. All three of her matches were won in straight sets and is now a career-high 113th in the live rankings.

This is the second successive year in which Jacquemot has played in round one of this tournament. 2024 saw her qualify but lose to Sloane Stephens in the first round. 

Her best run on grass this year was getting to the second round in Ilkley. This is going to be a tough task for her and we tip Linette to win.
