Israel's Maccabi Tel Aviv host FCSB of Romania in the second leg of their Champions League Second Qualifying Round tie. After the first match finished in a 1-1 draw in Romania, the Yellows start the second leg as the favorites with the bookmakers. Will our prediction echo that, or will Ros-Albastrii (the Red and Blues) of Romania come through?
Maccabi reached the Round of 16 in the Conference League last season. Incredibly, they defeated the eventual champions Olympiakos 4-1 in Greece but lost the home leg 6-1 after extra time. This is a cursory warning to Zarko Lazetic's team not to take anything for granted despite a good showing in the first leg of the tie.
Currently, Maccabi Tel Aviv plays their European home games in Hungary at the Bozsik Arena. That may give those hoping for an FCSB victory more than a glimmer of hope. However, the Yellows are unbeaten in their last 12 games in all competitions and friends, which is impressive. They were 2-0 winners of the Israeli Super Cup Final ahead of their 1-1 draw with FCSB last week.
Contrastingly, FCSB's form is nowhere near as strong. They have won just one of their last five games, albeit that came in the last round of this competition against Virtus (who they defeated 11-1 on aggregate). Their previous game was a disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Otelul in the Romanian SuperLiga, where they have yet to win in three games this season, drawing twice and losing once.
The winners of this tie will face either Sparta Prague or Shamrock Rovers in the Third Qualifying Round.

Having earned a creditable draw in the first leg in Romania, the Israeli side will be the favorites to progress here. They have strong form coming into this tie, having not been beaten in their previous 12 games and defensively, the goal they conceded in the first leg was the first shipped by the team in nine games. FCSB's form is far less impressive and being on the road makes this doubly tough for the Romanian champions.
