Lyon vs Reims Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

As they seek to keep their upward swing in Ligue 1, Lyon will be gunning for three points when they host Reims. A good run in recent matches has Lyon placed 10th, four points and a place behind Reims. Lyon endured a tough start to the season, failing to win any of their opening 10 matches. at 34 points after 26 matches, Lyon have done well for a side that managed just four points in the first 10 games. They’ve won six of their last seven league games and Lyon will hope the international break doesn’t break that momentum. Ahead of the break, they left it late before dispatching Toulouse 3-2 away from home. Four clean sheets only in their last 12 matches will however be a concern for Pierre Sage. They’ve failed to replicate their defensive discipline that in December yielded them four straight clean sheets. The major focus for now will however be on moving as far as possible from the relegation zone. As things stand, they are nine points above the relegation playoff position. After two straight away league matches, Lyon will welcome a return to the Groupama Stadium, where they have four wins in the last six matches.

Like Lyon, Reims will also be looking to build on a win in their last outing before the international break. They claimed a 2-1 home win against relegation-threatened Metz, only their second win in nine matches. This win lifted Reims to ninth place on 38 points just four behind the closest European competition slot. Reims were among the beneficiaries of Lyon’s poor start to the season. They thumped Lyon 2-0 in the reverse fixture and will be gunning for a double here. While Reims haven't won a lot in recent times, their scoring run is commendable. They failed to score in just three of their last 12 matches in all competitions. In those 12 matches, the visitors managed at least two goals in seven. A 2-2 draw with league leaders PSG in their last away match points to their fighting spirit, which they’d want to carry here. They’ve avoided defeat in three of their last four matches and only failed to score in one of those four games.
