What began as a disastrous season could have a happy ending for Lyon. They are tenth in Ligue 1 and host Brest who are second in the table. The home side are already in the French Cup final but do have to play PSG. Their season began terribly, and they were in the relegation zone. A form guide for the last 15 league games has them in third place and earning just a point less than Brest. They are unbeaten in their last five league and cup games with only Lens beating them in their last 12. However, they have failed to win either of their last two home league games and four of the last five have seen under 2.5 goals scored. Brest look to be on their way into next season’s Champions League. They trail leaders PSG by ten points but are nine above fifth place. A top three finish takes the club into the group stages and Brest leads fourth placed Lille by four points. The Pirates are unbeaten in their last three league fixtures. Their most recent league game saw them beat relegation-threatened Metz 4-3 at home. They trailed 1-0 but were 4-1 up at one stage. That was a rare high-scoring game for Brest with six of the previous seven having under 2.5 goals scored in them. That stat has come up in three of their last four away games.
