Champions League second qualifying round second leg action resumes in midweek, with Ludogorets set to take on Rijeka at Huvepharma Arena. The winner of this tie between the Eagles and Rijeka Bijeli will move on to face either Noah or Ferencvaros in the next round. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Ludogorets have featured in Champions League qualifying in every season since 2012-13, but they have only reached the main draw twice, most recently in 2016-17. 

The Eagles will be fairly content with their performance in Croatia last week, having held their opponents to a goalless draw, despite only having 44% possession. 

They will now return to their home patch, where they are unbeaten in their last 14 competitive matches and kept clean sheets in nine games during that period. 

Meanwhile, this is only Rijeka’s third UCL qualifying campaign, and its first since the 2017-18 season. They have never reached the main draw of the competition. 

The Whites managed four shots at goal and had the lion’s share of possession in the first leg, but were unable to find a breakthrough. That was only the second time the team failed to score in a home game since the start of February. 

The visitors now have a very tough task at hand on the road, where their record is far from impressive. They have only won one of their last five competitive away games (W1 D1 L3) across all competitions.
