Lois Boisson, the fifth seed at WTA Hamburg, is set to contest the quarter-final against Viktoriya Tomova. The two have never faced off before, and the winner here will proceed to meet Dalma Galfi or Dayana Yastremska. Read on for our prediction.
Boisson had a scare in her second-round meeting with Tamara Korpatsch. She lost the second set through a tiebreaker and had to battle through the third for a 2-1 win. Spending just under three hours in the game could cost her in the quarter-final.

Having earlier eliminated third seed Tatjana Maria, Tomova doesn’t look likely to suffer from stage fright. She hasn’t dropped a set at Hamburg yet and will feel she has an equal chance as Boisson to make the semis.
If it so happens, it will be the first time this season that she proceeds past the quarters. The Bulgarian, at 105th in the live rankings, reached the Cluj and Bari quarter-finals.
