Liverpool - Brighton: Form Analysis
Liverpool seem to have settled the nerves a bit and arrive for this match having not lost in four outings. It is their best run of results since starting the season with seven consecutive victories.
The Reds, who’ve had issues on and off the pitch, are coming off a pivotal 1-0 victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League. Liverpool have surprisingly fared better in Europe than domestically and are on pace to qualify for the next round of the competition.
They will be looking to translate this to the Premier League, where they have won seven and lost a further six times. The Merseyside club surrendered a 2-0 advantage against Leeds last time out in the PL to draw 3-3 away from home.
On 23 points after 15 matches, Liverpool have conceded 24 league goals.
Brighton will be hoping to take advantage of their hosts’ short time to prepare for this match after their European sojourn. Fabian Hurzeler’s men did not have any engagements in midweek and have had a full week to go through their paces.
With six wins and five draws, they are having one of their best seasons in the English top flight after 15 games. Brighton, who are also tied with Sunderland on 23 points, sit just two points off the top five.
The Seagulls, who haven’t won in their last two outings, drew 1-1 with West Ham last weekend.

Liverpool have had issues not only on the pitch but off it as well. Following the draw with Leeds, Mohamed Salah came out to the press to reveal that his relationship with Arne Slot had broken down.
There has been significant fallout after his statements, and the Egyptian winger was consequently left out of their Champions League squad in midweek. He is also expected to be left out of Brighton's visit.
As he is set for national duty with Egypt at the AFCON, the winger might not play for Liverpool until probably February.

Danny Welbeck has been key to Brighton’s European push. The veteran forward has scored seven goals, which is four more than his closest teammate.
