Second seed Emma Navarro takes on the sixth-seeded Linda Noskova for a place in the Monterrey Open final. The winner will face either third seed Ekaterina Alexandrova or unseeded Lulu Sun in the final. Here's our match prediction.

Navarro is ranked 12th in the live listings but can't climb any higher even if winning this hard court tournament. In the Live WTA Race, the American is up to eighth, so a position in the end-of-season Tour Finals is a distinct possibility.

It's been a breakthrough year for her with one title won this year and that was on the hard courts of Hobart, New Zealand. Winning this match will take Navarro into her third WTA singles final of the year. 

Wins this week have come against Camila Osorio (after dropping the first set) and seventh seed Magdalena Frech. Again, Navarro lost the first set but then dropped just a couple of games in the next two sets.

World number 35 Linda Noskova just failed to be seeded for the US Open and plays 30th seed Yulia Putintseva in round one. Noskova is up to 33rd in the live rankings and if winning this match will be ranked higher than her US Open opponent.

The Czech has won 17 of her 24 hard court matches this year but wasn't in good form in the run-up to this tournament. Three successive matches had been lost but her form has improved this week.

In the first round, she only dropped one game against Anna Danilina and then beat Xiy Wang in straight sets. That took her into a quarter-final against fifth seed Elina Svitolina and that was also won in straight sets.
