Fresh from a sensational win in the Champions League, Lille will be targeting a victory in Ligue 1 when they host Toulouse. Les Dogues welcome Les Violets in a game both teams will be keen to win. Here’s our preview and prediction for the match. 

The past few weeks have been stable for Lille. A 3-3 draw with Strasbourg started their recovery after losing four straight matches. Even that didn’t seem impressive after leading 2-0 in the game. 

They would then return to winning ways with a 3-0 victory at Le Havre. Their latest outing, however, served their most momentous result as they beat Real Madrid 1-0 in the Champions League.

The hosts will draw confidence from that win as they shift back to domestic action. 

Toulouse didn’t have midweek activity and will be banking on the freshness that comes with when they face Lille. They only have one win in their six matches this season, that was against Le Havre at home. 

After that they went on a two-match losing run and will rightly come into this game as underdogs. Their recent run against Lille will be a source for confidence, having gone unbeaten. 

They won their most recent meeting 3-1, the earlier one having ended in a 1-1 draw. Toulouse are coming from another lackluster performance in their 2-1 loss to Lyon.

They scored first but allowed Lyon back in the game, the winning goal coming in stoppage time.
