The biggest game in the German Bundesliga this weekend will have title contenders Leipzig host champions Bayern Munich on Saturday. The two sides are a point apart, Leipzig fourth on 12 and Bayern top on 13 points. Both teams are coming from wins in the DFB Pokal. Leipzig beat Wehen Wiesbaden 3-2 with Benjamin Sesko scoring his fourth and fifth goals in five games. This was also Leipzig’s sixth straight win and sixth time in eight matches that they scored three or more. All but one of their eight matches this season produced over 2.5 goals. In four of their last seven matches, both teams managed to score. Coming into this fixture, Leipzig are unbeaten in three matches against Bayern. This will be their second meeting with Bayern this season, after earlier beating them 3-0 in the Super Cup. Daniel Olmo scored the three goals in that win, and has four goals against Bayern in the last four games. However, he will sit out this one as he is injured.

Bayern Munich are coming from a 4-0 away win at Preussen Munster in the DFB Pokal. They rested a number of first team players, including Harry Kane, who scored three in the last Bundesliga game. With five goals in the last four matches, Kane will definitely be there pointman in this game. Mathys Tel has also staked a claim for a regular position and will be in the equation here. He scored for the fourth straight game in the midweek win. With all the wealth in attack, we expect Bayern Munich to go all out to avenge their Super Cup loss. They are however weak defensively, as the lack of regular clean sheets show. Bayern have two clean sheets in six matches. Both sides have scored in four of those six games. From their opening eight matches this season, Bayern have managed just three clean sheets. They have no clean sheet in their last six matches against Leipzig. This fixture hasn’t had many clean sheets anyway; in the last six, there’s been one only. It has been a high-scoring fixture, five of the last six producing over 2.5 goals.
