We can’t blame you if your money is on Medvedev to win. After all, he ranked 18th, much higher than Tien at 52nd. What’s more, the Russian has had a much better run in recent games, which featured multiple straight-set wins against top-20 players.

So what are we backing Tien to take a set? Well, he not only beat Medvedev in their only meeting, which took place in January, but Tien is coming off three straight underdog wins to qualify for this semifinal game. And even the last time Tien lost a single, he still managed to grab a set.

Tien just beat world number 9, Lorenzo Musetti, in a retired game in the quarterfinal, but he was already well on his way to winning after leading 3-0 in the third set. Meanwhile, Medvedev continued his dominance over Zverev, beating him once again in straight sets.
