Kamil Majchrzak is coming off an impressive five-set victory over ninth seed and former US Open semi-finalist Karen Khachanov. The Pole dug his heels in and fought his way from 2-0 down to secure victory in four hours and 35 minutes.

He has now won nine of his last 10 fixtures and, with that, has shot up 16 places to 60th in the live ranking. Majchrzak qualified for the fourth round at Wimbledon.

Leandro Riedi had never won a main draw tie at a major before this week. The Swiss, who has struggled with his fitness this year, made his Grand Slam debut at Wimbledon but lost in the first round.

Riedi began his campaign in New York in the qualifying rounds and has won all five matches he has contested. The 23-year-old had a commanding performance over Pedro Martinez in the first round and won their battle in straight sets.

In his follow-up tie, Riedi clawed his way from 2-0 down to upset 19th seed Francisco Cerundolo. Riedi’s run at Flushing Meadows has seen him jump a massive 198 places in the live ranking to 237th.
